IBR alloy steel elbows meet stringent Indian Boiler Regulations (IBR) for high-pressure steam and boiler applications. Manufacturers like Ace Alloys LLP produce these fittings in grades such as ASTM A234 WP5, WP9, WP11, and WP91 for superior strength in elevated temperatures.
Material GradesCommon IBR-approved alloy steels include WP1, WP5, WP9, WP11, WP12, WP22, and WP91, offering creep resistance up to 600°C. These elbows feature precise chemistry with chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium for oxidation and corrosion resistance. Ace Alloys LLP certifies them with IBR Form III C and NDT reports.
SpecificationsAvailable in seamless (up to 24" NB) or welded construction (up to 48" NB), sizes range from 1/2" to 48" NB in SCH 10 to XXS. Angles include 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, with long radius (1.5D) or short radius (1D) bends per ASME B16.9. Pressure ratings suit 150-2500 LBS classes.

SS 321 eccentric reducers are stabilized austenitic stainless steel buttweld fittings that connect pipes of different diameters while maintaining bottom alignment, preventing air pockets in high-temperature applications like heat exchangers and aerospace systems.

Material Composition

ASTM A403 WP321 grade contains up to 0.08% carbon, ≤2.00% manganese, ≤0.75% silicon, 17.0-19.0% chromium, 9.0-12.0% nickel, and 0.25-0.50% titanium (5xC min) for intergranular corrosion resistance after welding.

Mechanical Properties

These reducers offer minimum 515 MPa tensile strength, 205 MPa yield strength, 40% elongation, and Brinell hardness ≤217 HBW, suitable for service up to 925°C continuous.

Dimensions and Standards

Per ASME B16.9, sizes range 3/4"-48" NB in SCH 10S-160 (e.g., 3/4"x3/8-1/2": end-to-end 38mm; 1¼"x1/2-1": 51mm), available seamless or welded construction.

Carbon steel concentric reducers are butt-weld fittings that symmetrically transition between two pipes of different diameters, maintaining centerline alignment for uniform flow in low-to-medium pressure industrial systems. Made from materials like ASTM A234 WPB, they offer cost-effective strength and weldability, pairing with plate flanges, mild steel elbows, SS pipes/tubes, and other fittings in oil, water, or gas lines.

Design Features

Symmetrical taper prevents flow disruption, unlike eccentric types; beveled ends ensure full-penetration welds per ASME B16.9 standards.

Specifications

Sizes 1/2"-48" NPS (e.g., 3/4" x 1/2": OD 26.9/21.3 mm, length 38 mm), schedules SCH 10-160, weights 0.08-11 kg based on size.

Stainless steel eccentric reducers (ER) and concentric reducers (CR) are essential butt weld fittings used to join pipes of different diameters in industrial systems. ER maintains one side flat to avoid air pockets or accumulation, while CR centers the transition for uniform flow. Both are vital in sectors like petrochemicals and water treatment for seamless, leak-proof connections.

Design Differences
  • Eccentric Reducer (ER): Offset centerline prevents gas entrapment in horizontal lines or sediment buildup in vertical ones; ideal for pump inlets.

  • Concentric Reducer (CR): Symmetrical taper suits straight flow paths without level concerns, common in pressure drop-sensitive setups.

Common Specifications

Standards include ASME B16.9 and ASTM A403, with sizes from 1/2" to 48" and schedules like SCH 10S to 80S. Materials such as SS 304/316L offer corrosion resistance up to high temperatures.
